March 8 marks International Women's Day. No matter what language you speak, what region you come from, we can all agree that women are worth celebrating. Not sure how you can make this day count? No worries, we've got you covered!
Get To Work
Show up for the women who can’t or don’t work. Be a role model for the women in your office and do it all with a sense of pride. Of course, we don’t need a special day to do all of this, but today carries a particular tone that calls for an awareness of women out of the workforce and honoring them in our own special way.
Make your dollars go farther today by donating to a charity or nonprofit of your choice that focuses on the needs of women. It is International Women’s Day, so don’t feel the need to keep it local. If there’s an organization you’ve had your eye on, make today the day you finally send a donation.
Donate to our organizations of choice, Lotus House Shelter, or check out our amazing partners at She Recovers to learn how women are helping women heal from substance abuse disorders, other behavioral issues and a myriad of life experiences.
Whatever you’re going through today, remember how far you’ve come. Remember the women in your life and in our past history who have made the things we take for granted today possible… like wearing pants. Cue the eye roll. I know, but really, women were prohibited from quite a few things, like:
- Working while pregnant
- Getting an Ivy League education
- Serving in combat
- Suing for sexual harassment
- Getting a credit card
Ain't that some bullshit?
Got something to say? We all have a story about an amazing woman in our life. Take the time to send them a video, ecard, or voice message telling them how much you appreciate their influence and strength.
Take Care of Yourself
Self-care should really be an everyday thing, but it’s literally your day… so why the hell not? Recharge your feminine energy in whatever way suits you best- whether it’s upgrading your skin care routine, letting your creative juices flow, or sipping some wine and catching up on your favorite show.
How will you celebrate International Women's Day?
