What's Inside Our Products?

We’re pumped to provide clean ingredients and potent formulas with every product we launch. This transparency is what keeps us honest and accountable, and empowers you to learn about our products, unlike any other indie skin care brand. Many people think our products are “organic” or purely plant-based; the truth is, we’ve hit the sweet spot between a mixture of nature and science to create potent formulas with clean ingredients. This is the secret behind our products’ efficacy and simplicity. No fragrances needed, no harmful chemicals necessary.

Let’s face it, we can only add so much to our products to get them to smell nice. When you think about it though, do you really need to jeopardize your skin’s wellbeing just to smell like a pink grapefruit?

Here’s the truth: in order to eliminate unnecessary ingredients from our formulas, we had to learn to embrace the natural funk of these potent formulas. To tell you the truth, we kinda like it this way! How could we promote embracing your most natural you, only to cover up our own realness? No, they will not make your face stinky... just cleaner and healthier! All we’re saying is, we don’t fake the funk. We embrace it! Fortunately, our tribe seems to like it, too!

Our power players are the active ingredients that take your skin from dull to DAMN. They’re also what make our products into lean, mean, funk machines. On their own, we'd say these are some pretty awesome ingredients. Together, they're a powerful combination that gives you healthy skin that lets you be as authentically you as possible.

ALOE VERA: Plant-based ingredient. Heals wounds and also soothes skin with its anti-inflammatory properties.

CHARCOAL POWDER: It has the potential to extract deep-dirt that can get stuck in pores and cause infections.

COCONUT OIL: Natural ingredient that comes from coconuts. It works as an antibacterial and moisturizer.

CUCUMBER FRUIT EXTRACT: High in Vitamin C and has natural hydration benefits thanks to its high water content.

GARDEN CRESS EXTRACT: It has antioxidant properties as well as rejuvenating agents, and protective agents.

GREEN TEA: It helps the skin by reducing inflammation, puffy eyes, and oiliness; slowing down cell-aging, and reducing acne.

HYALURONIC ACID: We use a synthetic version which is able to hold 1,000X its weight in water. It hydrates and plumps skin by pulling moisture from the air.

JOJOBA OIL: This smooth operator is a knight in shining armor, making sure your skin stays soft and hydrated.

POMEGRANATE: It contains Vitamin C, anti-aging benefits, and acts as an antioxidant.

RETINOL: Powerful enough for effective cell turnover, yet gentle enough for sensitive skin.

ROSE HIP OIL: Helps your skin by correcting dark spots and hydrating.

SHEA BUTTER: Helps the skin with its moisturizing and emollient properties.

SQUALANE: Natural ingredient that is derived from olives. It works as an emollient and skin conditioner.

VITAMIN C: Plant-based ingredient that comes from foods such as citrus fruits, tomatoes, and potatoes. Its main benefits include collagen synthesis and antioxidant.

VITAMIN E: Plant-based ingredient that comes from foods such as oranges and broccoli. Its benefits for the skin include collagen synthesis and its antioxidant properties.

WITCH HAZEL BARK/LEAF TWIG EXTRACT: It has astringent properties which can help with acne. Also works as an anti-inflammatory.

When you see this ingredient in your beauty products, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s watered down. The water in skin care products is used as a vehicle of sorts to contain all the different ingredients together and allow them to move from bottle to skin cohesively.

Think of “Aqua” as a train and all of the other ingredients as passengers in that train. Next stop: your skin!

We’ve been conditioned to think that acids are harmful chemicals that melt through surfaces. Fortunately, that’s not the case with skin care acids. You’ll notice we love using certain acids, like hyaluronic acid, ascorbic acid, and salicylic acid. That’s because we tap into the rejuvenating and effective elements that boost our formula’s effectiveness.

It’s understandable to feel a bit hesitant at first, especially if it’s your first time; but if you’re ready to level up your skin care game, acids are a great place to start.
