Why We Love Rose Hip Oil

Rosehip oil is a MUST for skin care. It contains many antioxidants which combat free radicals that cause damage, as well as vitamin A. Combine that with its essential fatty acids, which help improve skin tone, texture, and pigmentation and its no wonder this is one of our power players!

Shutting Down The B.S.

Many people think that Rosehip Oil contains Vitamin C, but it doesn't. Rose hip oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the fruits of wild roses and is great for overall rejuvenating effects on the skin and fading scars and discoloration. So why all the confusion about vitamin C?  Well, fresh rose hips are really rich in vitamin C. More specifically, rose hip SKINS contain tons of vitamin C, while the seeds contain very little, which is where rose hip oil comes from. Although it doesn't contain as much Vitamin C as most people think, rosehip oil does contain high levels of beta-carotene (an antioxidant), all-trans retinoic acid (a vitamin A acid that retinol converts to), omega-3 and omega-6. Basically, rosehip oil is great to use in skincare, but it’s not because of its "vitamin C" content!
